A fire permit can be obtained by free calling 1800 000 699

Landowners who do not require a fire permit are encouraged to register their burns by free calling 1800 000 699 to avoid unnecessary brigade responses.

Review of the Fire Service Act 1979: Terms of Reference & Independent Chairperson

The Tasmanian Government requires the Fire Service Act 1979 to be reviewed and where appropriate, updated, to reflect contemporary emergency service practice and incorporate recommendations from major inquiries and reports.

The Tasmania Fire Service (TFS) and the Tasmania State Emergency Service (SES) aspire to stand out as major contributors to Tasmania’s and Australia’s emergency management sector.
