Joining the TFS
The Tasmania Fire Service (TFS) is a dynamic place to work. We do a wide range of work and value the role and the efforts of our people in delivering our services. Whether you want to be at the front line of our operations as a career or volunteer firefighter, providing life saving fire safety advice to the community, co-ordinating the communication and dispatch in Firecomm, building and maintaining our communications system and fire appliances, or providing administrative services there is rewarding work to be done.

The TFS is part of the Tasmanian State Service. Volunteer members are not employees of the State Service, but are covered by the State Service Principles. Career employees are selected on the basis of merit.
