Following the introduction of the Fuel Reduction Program in 2014 there has been a considerable reduction in bushfire risk to many Tasmanian communities.

Since the Program began, more than 600 fuel reduction burns have been conducted on both private and public land by the Program's partner agencies Tasmania Fire Service, Tasmania Parks and Wildlife Service and Sustainable Timber Tasmania which sees the Fuel Reduction Program continue to meet targets and a reduction in overall state-wide bushfire risk.

There are several other land managers across Tasmania, including local government and private landholders, also undertaking fuel reduction on land they manage. Whilst these activities also contribute to an overall reduction in bushfire risk, they are outside of the partner agencies fuel reduction program.


The information below provides a summary of all fuel reduction activities undertaken by the Program's partner agencies since the start of the Fuel Reduction Program. This list includes partially completed activities where further fuel reduction is planned to be done in future. The dates provided are indicative only.

The information has been separated into local government areas to make it easier to find Fuel Reduction Program activities that have occurred in your area.


This list will be updated at the end of each autumn and spring fuel reduction burning season.
