There is a bushfire that started at Riveaux Road, Southwest.
Although fire conditions are relatively benign at the moment, flare ups both within the fire area and on the fire edge will continue.
There is no immediate threat to Huonville, Glen Huon, or Frankin areas.
What to do:
People in Huonville, Glen Huon, Franklin area should keep up to date by listening to ABC Local Radio or look at the TFS website at www.fire.tas.gov.au.
Well prepared homes are defendable in these conditions.
If you are not prepared for a bushfire, think about leaving for a safe place if it gets more dangerous.
If your family has made a bushfire survival plan, check it now.
Report any new fires immediately by phoning Triple Zero (000).
A large number of uncontrolled hot spots remain burning in the areas from South Franklin to Glendevie.
It is important you stay up to date with the current fire information via the TFS website www.fire.tas.gov.au or local ABC radio.
Warning - Areas impacted by fire pose a number of risks and hazards to the public and fire crews. There are still a number of roads closed, and the public must adhere to road closure signage and refrain from entering these areas. Roads impacted by fire remain a significant risk of fallen trees or trees that have potential to fall without notice. Roads may be damaged, be slippery, have damage to local bridges, and normal roadside warning signs damaged or destroyed. Please slow down and drive to the conditions as emergency service vehicles continue to use these roads.
