Amendments to bushfire planning and building regulations – 23/02/17
Changes to Tasmania’s planning and building regulations for bushfire protection can into effect on 23rd February 2017. The modifications arise mostly from the Government’s larger program to reform planning and building regulation.
The changes include a revised Bushfire-Prone Areas Code (IPD1.1) and applies to all interim planning schemes. More information can be obtained here.
The Director of Building Control has also issued three new Determinations that are relevant to building permit applications. These Determinations put in place transitional arrangements for building work in hazardous areas, and in particular for bushfire-prone areas. The Determinations are summarised below. More information can be obtained here.
FRAMING THE FUTURE STRATEGIC PLAN

This Strategic Direction document represents an important step in our journey towards a common understanding of goals and objectives and will guide us in our collective efforts towards that goal.
